THE MAKING OF ‘AURORA’
THE MEANING BEHIND THIS LOOK.
The ‘Aurora’ look draws inspiration directly from Mia McGriskin’s lifelong love of snow and the quiet magic it carries. Named after Aurora—natural lights that shimmer across winter skies and symbolise dawn, illumination, and celestial beauty—the piece embodies a silver, divine aesthetic that feels both icy and ethereal.
THE SKETCH.
DEVELOPMENT
Diamanté rhinestoning was hand sewn across the breast section to create an icicle-like effect, as if she had just emerged from the snow. The clustered stones catch the light the way frozen droplets would, giving the illusion of shimmering icicles cascading from the top. This detailing enhances the garment’s frosted, winter-born aesthetic, making the entire look feel both ethereal and strikingly cold.
